Origins

Dehydrated Onions have been cultivated for thousands of years throughout all cultures. Dehydrating onions were used to create onion powder used in medicines and as a spice in Asia as far back as 3000 B.C. Current dehydration methods for onions includes washing off the skins, and then chopping them and placing them inside a conventional tunnel dryer dehydrator where hot air 100-140 degrees Fahrenheit passes over the onion eventually drawing out 90% of the moisture.
